Strategic Engagement Advisor for Rare Melanin: Brice advises Rare Melanin, a nonprofit dedicated to centering and amplifying Black experiences in rare diseases. The organization promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion within healthcare, addressing barriers faced by Black patients and families impacted by rare diseases.
Rise to Health: A National Coalition for Equity in Health Care: As a founding team member, Brice contributed to this collaboration between the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). The Rise to Health Coalition aims to bring together individuals and organizations to create systemic change in health care through coordinated and collective action.
Fellowship and Research Roles
Chicago Albert Schweitzer Fellow: Brice highlighted the social and structural drivers of firearm violence as key intervention points to combat violence at the community level.
Chicago Gun Violence Research Collaborative (CGVRC) Fellow: Utilizing epidemiological principles, Brice's research, Chicago Pediatric Firearm Deaths During the COVID-19 Pandemic, analyzed the root causes of firearm violence, contributing to evidence-based solutions for prevention.
Black Med Connect (B-Med) Intern: Brice's work with B-Med is creating pathways to medicine for marginalized and minoritized communities. My work focuses on fostering opportunities, mentorship, and resources that empower the next generation of diverse medical professionals.
Brady United Firearm Violence Prevention Fellow: Brice collaborated with Brady United, presenting at their second annual Building a Future Without Gun Violence Conference in Chicago. His presentation focused on the social and structural drivers of gun violence in the city.
Loyola Stands Against Gun Violence: I contributed research to Loyola Stands’ work titled Leveraging Multiple Community Stakeholders to Address Gun Violence in U.S. Cities: A Systematic Review. Loyola Stands is dedicated to informing and inspiring lawmakers and communities to recognize that the under-regulated proliferation of firearms has led to a national public health crisis.
Advocacy and Policy
American Medical Association (AMA) Firearm Violence Prevention Task Force: Brice contributed to the AMA's task force by contributing to various policy briefs advocating for policy changes at local, state, and federal levels to address firearm violence.
